We're restarting this newsletter after a “little" break. Getting here took a bit longer than expected! We had to migrate everyone over from the old subscriber list, plus add everyone who joined us through the survey asking to be added. So whether you've been following along for a while or just joined recently, welcome 🤗!

🛖 What we've been up to

The biggest concrete update: we've built a roof over both containers.  This gives us proper shelter for the first time. No more losing days to rain the way we did last season, and another small step to more comfort when spending the night on the land!

In the garden, the broad beans have started taking off, and we've been doing additional planting around the basecamp. Winter's actually the ideal time for this. Trees and shrubs are dormant, so they put their energy into establishing roots and much less to support leaf growth. And, the cooler, wetter conditions mean far less stress (and far less watering) than a spring or summer planting would.

Winter time = slow down time

On the video side: it's winter, and we've deliberately slowed the YouTube upload schedule. That's not a stall, it's a trade. We're using the extra time for reflection, but also things like sending out surveys to get to know you better and restarting this awesome newsletter. Expect a quieter channel for now, and some very cool vids once we pick back up!
